Michael J. O'Rourke is a founding partner and the current managing partner of the firm, with over 30 years’ experience in business litigation and corporate reorganization. His trial experience extends across all areas of commercial law, including the Uniform Commercial Code, banking, contracts, partnership, and creditors’ rights. Mr. O’Rourke has handled complex multi-district litigation on the federal level and has also acted as lead counsel in numerous class actions throughout the country. Mr. O’Rourke has represented major institutions, such as banks, corporations and partnerships in a wide variety of matters, including bankruptcy and real estate reorganization.

Michael C. Moody is an equity partner of the firm with over 20 years’ experience in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and business reorganizations, and provides counsel to companies with respect to general corporate matters, complex transactions, and in litigation. Mr. Moody began his career as a bankruptcy and reorganization practitioner at the law firm of Winston & Strawn. He has represented numerous small and midsized companies in debt restructuring or default situations, in particular midsize construction companies. Mr. Moody has extensive experience in business reorganization matters having participated in many large reorganizations and workouts. Mr. Moody also has considerable experience representing secured creditors, most notably ORIX Credit Alliance and AT&T Financial Services in all aspects of commercial equipment leasing litigation.

Andrew N. Levine is a partner with the firm and is an experienced litigator and general practitioner. He has been with the firm since 1997 and has conducted numerous jury and bench trials in state and federal court in a variety of administrative forums. Before joining the firm Mr. Levine served as an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. He is a member of the federal trial bar. In addition to litigation, Mr. Levine counsels clients and handles a variety of business transactional and real estate matters, representing business owners, landlords and tenants. He is also currently serving as a Special Assistant State’s Attorney handling post-conviction petitions involving claims of coerced confessions resulting from allegations of physical abuse and torture. He has also previously served as a Special Assistant Attorney General representing the Illinois Department of Transportation in an employment discrimination matter through trial and on appeal before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

with a post-conviction petition filed
by an incarcerated individual
alleging his confession was the
product of physical abuse and
torture. The matter was dismissed
after argument by the circuit court
and appealed. Presented oral
argument on appeal of post
conviction matter. After oral
argument, dismissal was affirmed
on appeal.

Circuit Court of Cook County

DiamondRock v. Alt Hotel LLC,
et al Represent mezzanine lender
in connection with a 79 million
dollar foreclosure of a landmark
hotel located in downtown
Chicago. Matter involves
numerous complex transactional
